Brazil become 5th team to reach quarter finals of 2018 FIFA world cup at Russia. On Monday, the first match of the day Brazil beat Mexico 2 – 0 to secure their spot for the quarter finals.  Brazil is the 5th team qualifying for the quarter finals of World cup 2018 and they will face the winner from the game Belgium Vs Japan, the second game on Monday.

This is the 7th time Mexico is getting out of the world cup in the pre quarters. Both goals of the match happened at the second half.

At first half, it was Mexico who started with sizzling attacks from both corners. Till 20 minutes Brazil did not get much opportunities. After that Brazil took much of the attack to Mexican post. Wonderful saves from Mexican goalie Ochoa, keep the scores tight 0 – 0 at half way stage.

Second half, Brazils fans was having happy moments as back-to-back attack from Brazil keep Mexico on the check. The first goal came from star player Neymar who had wonderful run with Willian at the Mexican box at 51′ minute. A cross from Willian and nice stretched leg touch from Neymer gives much needed lead for Brazil. 1 – 0

Neymar delivered big time for Brazil today.  Second goal also was from his assist. His shots towards the net, countered by Ochoa with weaker hand touch. The ball curled towards the substittue Firmino who made no mistake. Goal number 2 for Brazil at 88′ minute.

The second goal really tarnished the hopes for Mexicans. They tried hard multiple times on the Brazilian goal post, none reached inside the nets. Also they could not forced into attack as Brazil was keep on coming with dangerous attacks. Neymer was a threat to Mexico throughout and it seemed that he had his old pace and dynamism back. Mexican goalkeeper Ochoa almost saved 7 – 10 shots on target.
