Arsenal got shocking treatment from Liverpool in English premier league yesterday at Anfield.
Liverpool continuous their impressive run against top-six teams this season after defeating Arsenal last night. The Gunners now moved above Manchester City to third place as a result. Dropping Alexis Sánchez to the bench is also simulate drop out of the Champions League positions.
Liverpool were ahead inside nine minutes. Adam Lallana played Sadio Mané into space on the right, and when the cross came in Philippe Coutinho allowed it to reach the unmarked Roberto Firmino at the corner end. His feather touch followed by a strong shot hits the roof of Petr Cech’s net.
Liverpool’s defeat at the King Power Stadium on Monday against Leicester made a strong come back for Jürgen Klopp’s side. Non availability of Sánchez and Mesut Özil in the squad, made look Arsenal a little laboured going forward.
Once the goal came in, Arsenal struggled to answer it for the next 30 minutes. Coutinho and Lallana worked hard to prevent the visitors from puttinh the goal back. Olivier Giroud and Alex Iwobi were isolated up front and easily contained. At 40′, Sadino put scores 2 -0. Only when Granit Xhaka strode from midfield to waft a speculative effort from distance high into the Kop, Arsenal fans in the Anfield Road end got a chance to rejoice a bit in the game.
Second half started with seeing a regrouped Arsenal into the game. Sánchez came on for the second half, and Arsenal immediately looked better. Their effort got paid when Danny Welback put back visitors back into game scoring a superb goal. It made scroes 2-1 and stadium was on thrilling spirit. Srong run by Sánchez was ended by a challenge that resulted in a booking for Emre Can.
Both teams stayed with same score until Georgino scored a finishing goal at extra time. Arsenal got little time to come back after that and the scoreline end at 3-1. Liverpool got very important points from this game.
“I have no regrets, I have to stand by my decision, Collectively we were good in the second half, just as collectively we were not good enough in the first.” Wenger said after the game.

Liverpool always come out on top when it comes to the big games and it shows here again. Its because they have the determination and will to win against the big teams while against bottom half teams such as Swansea and Leicester-they just turn up and expect a win and dont even try. However its wonderful to see them play against the big teams because they attack so well when Mane, Firmino and Coutinho are on top of their games
